Tidewater Transit Co., LLC Unveils Memorial Garden
Tidewater Transit Co., LLC (TWT) recently unveiled a memorial garden at their location on Wilkes Road in Fayetteville that commemorates the sacrifice of veterans in the service of the United States Military. The memorial was created and donated by the employees of the company with Kevin Deibel, John Hart, and Jim and Kitty Conners building, planting, assembling, and painting the elements of the project.
The memorial is in the shape of a pentagon to honor military leadership and includes a statue representing a “Battlefield Cross” with the weapon, helmet, and boots of a fallen soldier. This piece is surrounded by flowers, stones featuring the emblems of each service branch, and a sign that reads “We stand for the flag. We kneel for the fallen.”
The dedication of the garden corresponded with National Truck Drivers Appreciation Week, and was attended by the Company’s President, Frank Famularo, employees, members of the community, and representatives from a local Navy JROTC program.
