Cumberland County Hosts Crown Event Center Ground Breaking
This afternoon, the Cumberland County Board of Commissioners held a groundbreaking for the future Crown Events Center, which will be located at the intersection of Gillespie Street and Ottis F. Jones Parkway. In September 2022, the Board approved the guiding principles for the project which is scheduled to open Spring 2027.
The 137,000-square-foot facility will feature a main entertainment center with floor-level seating and VIP & general admission balconies. Once opened, productions will include a variety of concerts, comedy shows, local theatre, and more. Aside from shows, the venue will have a multi-use banquet hall available for private events and business conferences.
“The Crown Event Center will be a great addition to our vibrant downtown community,” said FCEDC President & CEO Robert Van Geons. “It will serve as an economic catalyst, opening the door for Fayetteville and Cumberland County to host various conventions that will bring in businesses from around the state, country, and internationally.”
