FCEDC Welcomes New Board Members, Realigns Staff
PWC CEO/General Manager and FSU Dean join FCEDC Board of Directors, and two staff members move into new positions

 

FAYETTEVILLE, NC – The Fayetteville Cumberland Economic Development Corporation is pleased to share that Timothy Bryant and Dr. Ulysses Taylor have joined the company’s Board of Directors. Additionally, staff members Jennifer Hammond and Brittany Tschida are serving the company in new roles.

 

Timothy Bryant became the CEO/General Manager of Fayetteville Public Works Commission in August 2023. Before joining PWC, he worked for Southern Company in Birmingham, AL, and served in numerous leadership roles at Florida Power and Light Company. An active civic leader and native of Goldsboro, North Carolina, Bryant graduated from NC State University. He began his utility career in 1997 with power generation engineering roles with Black & Veatch Corporation.

Dr. Ulysses Taylor is the Dean of Broadwell College of Business & Economics at Fayetteville State University. In his role at FSU, Taylor is responsible for all undergraduate and graduate business programs, which include approximately 1,750 students and 62 faculty and staff members. Dr. Taylor is the chairman of the Fayetteville State University Development Corporation and a board member and treasurer of The Capitol Encore Academy.

 

“I am honored to be appointed to the FCEDC Board and am excited to have an opportunity to collaborate with its members about the future growth of Fayetteville and Cumberland County,” shared Dr. Taylor.

Members are appointed to the FCEDC Board by our public and private partners, the Cumberland County Board of Commissioners, the Fayetteville City Council, and the Community Development Foundation. Dr. Taylor, appointed by the County, and Mr. Bryant, appointed by the CDF, will work with the Board to promote economic growth and prosperity in Fayetteville and Cumberland County.

 

“With their diverse expertise and commitment to our community, Timothy Bryant and Dr. Ulysses Taylor will undoubtedly enrich our endeavors as we continue to drive economic growth and prosperity,” said Kathryn Cox, chairwoman of the FCEDC Board of Directors. “Additionally, we are grateful to our former Chairman and Vice Chairman, Kelvin Farmer and Vivek Tandon, who provided valuable insights and dedication to our organization, and have rotated off the Board after serving two consecutive terms.”

 

In addition to Board changes, two FCEDC staff members are serving in new roles. Jennifer Hammond, who joined the team in September of 2023, is stepping into the Manager of Business Services position, supporting our existing business employers. Brittany Tschida, who joined the company in December of 2023, is now FCEDC’s Marketing Manager. In this role, she will be working to promote Fayetteville-Cumberland County as a premier business location.
