Existing Steel Fabrication Manufacturer Announces Expansion
in Fayetteville and Cumberland County
Creating 42 Jobs and Investing $22 Million
FAYETTEVILLE, NC – SteelFab, Inc., a North Carolina-founded manufacturer specializing in structural steel fabrication, has announced plans to expand its Fayetteville operations. The project represents a $22 million investment and will create 42 new jobs paying an average annual salary of nearly $70,000.
SteelFab has operations in thirteen states and supplies structural steel for commercial and industrial construction projects across a variety of sectors, including healthcare, education, and logistics. The company has contributed to several projects throughout the region, including the Methodist University’s Cape Fear Valley Health School of Medicine.
As part of this expansion, SteelFab will construct a new 129,000-square-foot facility adjacent to its existing campus near the Murchison Road Corridor, further strengthening its presence in Fayetteville.

The expansion was supported through a combined local incentive package of $690,987 from the City of Fayetteville and Cumberland County and will be distributed in installments over a five-year period.
“This investment brings 42 well-paying jobs and $22 million in capital investment into the Murchison Road Corridor, a community I grew up in and have fought for as Mayor,” stated City of Fayetteville Mayor Mitch Colvin. “With starting wages of $59,650, well above our county average, this is the growth our residents deserve.”

The project also received support from the North Carolina Department of Commerce, the North Carolina Community College System, and Fayetteville Technical Community College.
Earlier today, Governor Stein announced that the State has awarded the company a One NC grant of $125,000. “North Carolina is a place where businesses like SteelFab can grow,” said Governor Josh Stein. “Cumberland County is home to a world-class workforce, legacy of manufacturing excellence, and convenient East Coast location. We’re grateful that SteelFab is doubling down on Cumberland.”
