Get Connected at the New Inventors and Entrepreneurs Club

Do you have a new product or business idea? Do you dream about starting your own business? Do you currently own a small business but need help taking it to the next level? Do you provide assistance or support to local entrepreneurs?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, the new Inventors and Entrepreneurs (I&E) Club is a great way to get connected. The I&E Club is open to everyone including entrepreneurs just starting out or who have been in business for awhile, inventors, retired or former business owners, manufacturing reps, investors, entrepreneur support organizations and other like-minded individuals in the Fond du Lac County area and surrounding counties. At the I&E Club meetings, people can connect with and learn from peers and others in a fun and supportive environment which will foster a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship in our local communities.

The inaugural meeting of the new Inventors and Entrepreneurs Club is scheduled for Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at the Elks Club, 33 Sheboygan Street, Fond du Lac. The Club will meet every second Tuesday of each month. Registration and networking begins at 5:00 p.m. The meeting with speakers commences at 6 p.m. Sharing and networking follow at 7:00 p.m. Water and popcorn will be provided by the Club. Attendees can order and pay for dinner at the Elks Club before 6:00 p.m. and a cash bar will be available before, during and after the Club meeting.

Keynote speakers for the inaugural meeting include Terry Whipple, Executive Director of the Juneau County Economic Development Corporation and Greg Mies, a local inventor. Greg will share why Now is the Time to Invent. Terry is the brainchild of the I&E Club model which has been successfully deployed across Wisconsin and other states. He will share experiences and business success stories from the Juneau County I&E Club, the first Club formed in 2003. “The culture displayed at the Juneau County I&E Club is invigorating; everyone helps each other succeed. We want to create that synergy here locally by educating, nurturing and networking inventors and entrepreneurs,” says Jo Ann Giese-Kent, I&E Club Advisory Council co-chair and Director of Entrepreneurship and Business Intelligence at the Fond du Lac County Economic Development Corporation.

Club meetings are free. Reservations are appreciated as seating is limited. Call 920-929-2928 or email to reserve your spot. The event is sponsored by the Fond du Lac County Economic Development Corporation and the Center for Enterprise Development in partnership with the I&E Club Advisory Council. The Council includes members from Moraine Park Technical College, Ripon College’s Creative Enterprise Center, UW-Oshkosh Small Business Development Center, ADVOCAP, Raised I Brow and Inspired by You.
